Tests can bring up a lot more than questions and answers. For some students, testing can trigger racing thoughts, self-doubt, difficulty concentrating, physical tension, or fear of getting something wrong.
Test Anxiety: Calm, Focused & Confident is an interactive workshop designed to give students practical strategies they can use before and during tests to better manage stress, regulate their emotions, and approach testing with greater confidence.
Through age-appropriate activities and guided practice, students will learn how thoughts, emotions, and physical stress responses can affect their testing experience — and, more importantly, what they can do when anxiety starts to take over.
Students will practice:
Recognizing signs of test anxiety
Calming breathing and grounding strategies
Challenging negative or anxious self-talk
Creating more confident internal messages
Regaining focus when their mind becomes overwhelmed
Developing a simple pre-test calming routine
Students will leave with practical strategies they can continue practicing at home and use during future tests.
Advance registration required. Space is limited.
